New papers in PNAS and in Bio-protocol!
We have two new papers, one in PNAS and one in Bio-protocol!
Harnoss JM, Le Thomas A, Shemorry A, Marsters SA, Lawrence DA, Lu M, Chen Y-CAriel, Qing J, Totpal K, Kan D et al.. 2019. Disruption of IRE1α through its kinase domain attenuates multiple myeloma. Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. Here we describe the pharmacological targeting of the kinase domain of the key UPR effector IRE1 as a potential therapeutic for multiple myeloma.
G. Karagöz E, Peschek J, Walter P, Acosta-Alvear D. 2019. In vitro RNA Cleavage Assays to Characterize IRE1-dependent RNA Decay . Bio-protocol July 20; 9(14), 2019. Here we describe a protocol for in vitro RNA cleavage assays using recombinant IRE1. This protocol is linked to our recent eLife paper: Acosta-Alvear D, Karagöz GElif, Fröhlich F, Li H, Walther TC, Walter P. 2018. The unfolded protein response and endoplasmic reticulum protein targeting machineries converge on the stress sensor IRE1. eLife 2018 Dec 24;7. pii: e43036.
