Biography

Tessa is a biology major at UCSB's College of Creative Studies. She joined the Arias Lab in the fall of 2019 and is interested in virology and immunology. Currently, she is working to characterize HSV-1 infection in retinal organoids and exploring interferon response to infection. Outside of the lab, Tessa enjoys listening to electronic/rock music, playing tennis, and drawing. 

Research Area

Tessa is looking to determine a FACS-based system to isolate and purify Muller glial cells from retinal organoid tissues for further study.
