Biography

Catya is a MA student who joined the lab as an undergraduate researcher in the summer of 2018. She did some previous research at UCSD in the Cancer Research Center. Her first project in the Arias lab investigated how KSHV adapts to acute and chronic UPR stress. As an MA student, she is currently investigating the mechanism of lytic reactivation in KSHV and transcriptome changes at the single cell level in infected primary cells. Outside of lab, Catya enjoys everything Harry Potter and running in beautiful Santa Barbara.
