Joel and the Interstellar project "Skylight" are featured in two Photonics podcasts!  In episode 05.0001 from Feburary 15, 2022 Joel's portion is about 15 minutes into the program.  He discusses biological implications of launching invertebrate animals into the depths of the galaxy.  In episode 05.0002 from March 1, 2022 both Joel Rothman and Philip Lubin discuss the NASA program Skylight with a focus on the directed energy facet of the project, Lubin identifies the considerable photonic advances that must be made before achieving atmospheric flight.
