| Abstract | Developmentally programmed cell-cell fusion in Caenorhabditis elegans requires the EFF-1 protein, which is sufficient to cause normally non-fusing cells to fuse. EFF-1 localizes to fusion-fated membranes, implicating it as a direct fusogen. |
