Congratulations to Weimbs Lab undergraduate researcher Emily Ngo who has been accepted to the University of California Leadership Excellence through Advanced Degrees (UC LEADS) program for the 2025-27 Scholar Cohort
UC LEADS is one of the most prestigious undergraduate research programs in the University of California system. Once chosen as UC LEADS Scholar, awardees will engage in a two-year program of scientific research and graduate school preparation guided by individual faculty mentors and Graduate Division staff. The program is designed to engage and educate undergraduate students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The goal of this program is to provide UC LEADS Scholars with the opportunity to explore their discipline, gain research experience, prepare for graduate school and assume positions of leadership in academia, industry, government or public service following the completion of a doctoral degree.
As a UC LEADS Scholar, Emily will continue her research on polycystic kidney disease in the Weimbs Lab.
